The Role:
Recently backed by Private Equity, the company is on an ambitious scaling and internationalisation journey. Reporting to the newly-appointed CFO, the Group Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in building and strengthening the finance function to support rapid growth and meet the demanding requirements of the investment cycle. This role offers a clear progression path towards a Finance Director position.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely management information (MI) at month-end and annual accounts preparation across group companies
· Manage all aspects of UK and international tax compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
· Develop and enhance financial controls, systems, and processes to support business scaling and international operations.
· Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in partnership with the CFO and wider management team.
· Drive financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making in a dynamic ecommerce environment.
· Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers.
· Support the development of internal finance team capabilities, mentoring junior finance staff as the team grows.
· Contribute to the overall strategic finance agenda during the investment cycle and beyond.
· Monitor and manage working capital, financial risks, and regulatory compliance.
· Facilitate business partnering across departments to ensure finance is integrated with operational objectives.
Skills:
· Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
· Proven experience as a Financial Controller within demanding and fast-growing businesses.
· Ecommerce or digital sector experience strongly preferred but not essential if evidence of quick learning and adaptability is demonstrated.
· Experience within international or multi-jurisdictional businesses highly desirable.
· Strong technical accounting and tax compliance knowledge.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
· Ambitious, proactive, and comfortable driving change and transformation.
· Comfortable working closely with Private Equity stakeholders.
