Warehouse Team Leader-Pick & Pack

Role Purpose

The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the pick and pack team, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently and on time. This role involves leading a team, monitoring performance, maintaining quality standards and supporting continuous improvement in Warehouse Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Supervision
    • Lead, motivate, and support a team of pickers and packers to achieve daily targets.
    • Allocate tasks and monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of orders.
    • Provide on-the-job training and coaching for new and existing staff.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee the picking and packing process to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
    • Ensure stock is handled carefully to avoid damage and waste.
    • Monitor inventory movements and escalate discrepancies to management.
    • Ensure all orders meet company quality and customer service standards.
  • Health & Safety / Compliance
    • Ensure team compliance with warehouse health & safety regulations.
    • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
    • Report and address any hazards, incidents or equipment issues promptly.
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Track team KPIs such as order accuracy, productivity and packing standards.
    • Provide feedback, conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
    • Assist management in identifying process improvements and efficiency gains.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in pick and pack.
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience desirable.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Competence in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanners.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Based in a warehouse environment with physical activity required (lifting, moving stock, standing for long periods).
  • Shift-based work may be required (early, late, weekends).
